General Guidelines - Brooklyn Federal respects your privacy. We want you to understand how we use the information we collect from you to provide you with the products and services that you have come to expect from us. The following Privacy Disclosure explains the procedures and policies we use.

Collection, Retention, and Use of Information About You - Brooklyn Federal  collects nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

· Information we receive from you on applications or other forms,
· Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others
· Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency.

The Brooklyn Federal web site site consists of informational and transactional sections. The transactional section consists of all areas associated with Brooklyn Federal e-Bank.  The e-Bank area includes sections accessed from the "online banking" link on the menu directory. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for each of these sections.

INFORMATIONAL
You can visit this site and find out about our products and services or other information without giving us any information about yourself.

We do not collect identifying information about visitors to our site. All visitors remain anonymous.

We use standard software to collect non-identifying information about our visitors, such as:

1. The type of Browser being used
   
2. The date and time our site was accessed
   
3. The IP address - This address is a unique string of numbers that identifies a computer on the Internet. These numbers are usually shown in groups separated by periods, like this: 64.59.40.38 All resources on the Internet must have an IP address--or else they're not on the Internet at all.

We use this information to create summary statistics and to determine the level of interest in information available on our site.

E-mail is our preferred method of communication and we value the privilege to use it. Visitors may elect to provide us with name, email address and phone number information via E-mail, [online registration forms]. This information is used internally, as appropriate, to handle the sender's request. It is not disseminated or sold to other organizations. Internet email is not a secure facility and should not be used to communicate with Brooklyn Federal about your accounts.

TRANSACTIONAL
In the transactional section, a single cookie, known as a session cookie, a non-persistent cookie, or a pre-expired cookie is used for the transactional session information only.  Online banking also uses a cookie as part of their Multi-Factor Authentication process. These cookies are required to be stored on the user’s machine as part of the stringent security measures of the Internet Banking product. As the end user navigates through Internet Banking a pre-expired cookie is set each time a page is viewed. Because the HTML page they are viewing is not "cached", it must always be re-retrieved from the server.

The pre-expired cookies keep the session alive until the end user logs out properly or times out of Internet Banking. Once this occurs, the end user must login with their User ID and Password to gain access again. This ensures that another user using the same computer cannot access the previous session.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law. We may disclose all of the information we collect as described above to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.

We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
